Fr Tony Schick
I'm Fr Tony Schick. I grew up in Rockhampton, Central Queensland,
and did a degree in Applied Physics before moving to Canberra
for work. I worked there as an Electronics Engineer for a couple
of years, during which time I felt a renewed interest in
becoming a priest or missionary -- I'd thought a lot about that
when I was a kid. During that time I met the Missionaries of
God's Love, then just five in number, and I immediately felt
that that was what I wanted to do with my life. I felt that it
was what I'd always been meant to do with my life! I joined the
MGLs in 1988, and was ordained priest in 1996. Since then I've
worked in Burwood parish in Melbourne (where our seminarians
live), and as chaplain at a high school in PNG, Canberra
University, and Deakin University (Melbourne). I'm currently in
Melbourne, working in the parish, at the university, and with
the brothers in the Melbourne house.
